§ 1171 Memorial District Establishment Powers

This law says a special area called a memorial district can be set up, run, and given powers that the law says it should have.

Key Takeaways

  • •A memorial district can be created and kept running.
  • •The district can be governed and funded as the law allows.
  • •It gets any powers the law specifically says it has or that are needed to do its job.

Example

A town creates a memorial district to take care of a historic war monument and to collect small fees from local property owners to pay for its upkeep.

Because of this law, the town can officially form the district, manage it, get money for it, and use any powers the law gives it to keep the monument safe and maintained.
