§ 79865 Indemnity After Repeal

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone did something wrong before a law was removed, they can still be protected by that old law.
  • •This rule is about making sure people don’t get in trouble for things that happened when the old law was still around.
  • •It only applies to things that happened before the law was taken away.

Example

A worker got hurt on the job in 2022 because their boss didn’t follow safety rules.

Even if the safety law was removed in 2023, the boss can still be held responsible because the problem happened when the law was still in place.
