§ 78950 Community Advisory Group Formation

Key Takeaways

  • •People in a community can create a group to give their opinions on cleanup or safety actions happening in their area.
  • •If at least 50 people from the community sign a request, the government must help them start this group.
  • •If the local government (like a city council) asks for it, the state must also help create this group.

Example

A neighborhood has a polluted park that the government is cleaning up.

If 50 neighbors sign a paper asking for a say in how the cleanup happens, the government must help them form a group to share their ideas.
