§ 41260 Mojave Desert District Staff

Key Takeaways

  • •The Mojave Desert board must hire people to help with their work.
  • •The board picks one person (called an air pollution control officer) to be the boss of the staff.
  • •The boss (APCO) follows the rules and plans set by the board.

Example

Imagine a school where the principal hires teachers and janitors to keep the school running.

The Mojave Desert board is like the principal—they hire workers and pick one person to be in charge, just like a principal picks a vice principal. The vice principal (or APCO) makes sure everything runs smoothly but still follows the principal’s (board’s) rules.
