§ 41255 Controller Bond Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The person in charge must promise to do their job well by signing a special paper (bond).
  • •The amount of money for this promise is decided by the Mojave Desert district board.
  • •If the county money-checker makes a mistake with a payment order, they won’t get in trouble for it.
  • •Old promises made before July 1, 1993, still count and won’t be changed by this rule.

Example

Imagine the school principal signs a paper promising to do their job well, and the school board decides how much money that promise is worth.

If the principal doesn’t do their job right, the school can use that promise to fix things. But if the school’s money person makes a mistake with a payment, they won’t get in trouble.
