§ 34209 County Authority Jurisdiction Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •A county authority can work in the whole county, except in cities that have their own authority.
  • •If a city has its own authority, the county authority can't start new projects there unless the city says it's okay.
  • •If a city later gets its own authority, the county authority can't start new projects in that city anymore.

Example

A county has a housing authority that helps build and manage affordable homes. One of the cities in that county decides to create its own housing authority.

Once the city has its own housing authority, the county authority can't start any new housing projects in that city unless the city gives permission. The county authority can still work in other parts of the county that don't have their own authority.
