§ 25266 Hazardous Site Termination Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're in charge of a place where bad stuff (like chemicals) spilled, you can ask to stop following these rules for that place.
  • •The group in charge has to say it's okay first.
  • •Once they say okay, you can't ask for a different group to be in charge later.

Example

A factory had a chemical spill years ago and cleaned it up safely. Now they want to stop checking in with the government about it.

The factory can ask the government to stop making them follow the cleanup rules. If the government says yes, the factory can't later ask for a different government group to take over.
