§ 25254 Green Ribbon Science Panel

Key Takeaways

  • •A special group called the Green Ribbon Science Panel is created to help with science and safety stuff.
  • •This group has experts in different areas like chemistry, health, and how to keep the environment clean.
  • •The group must meet at least twice a year, and anyone can go to their meetings.
  • •The group's job is to give advice on things like pollution, health risks, and safer ways to make products.

Example

Imagine a company wants to make a new cleaning product but isn’t sure if it’s safe for people or the planet.

The Green Ribbon Science Panel would look at the product, check if it could hurt people or pollute the air or water, and suggest safer ways to make it. Their meetings are open, so even regular people can listen and learn.
