§ 17001 Employee Housing Building Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •Houses where workers live must follow the state's building rules for safety and health.
  • •If the city or town has its own rules that are just as strict, then those local rules apply instead.
  • •The rules cover the main house and any small buildings next to it, like a garage or shed.

Example

A farm has small houses for its workers to live in.

These houses must be built safely, following either the state's rules or the town's rules if the town has its own strict rules.
