§ 13135 Recovery Facility Fire Safety

Key Takeaways

  • •The State Fire Marshal makes safety rules for places where people get help for alcohol or drug problems.
  • •These rules depend on whether the people living there can walk around on their own or need help moving.
  • •The rules do not care about how old the people are—only if they can move by themselves.

Example

A place where people go to get help for drinking too much alcohol.

If most of the people there use wheelchairs and can't walk, the Fire Marshal will make special fire safety rules for that place. It doesn’t matter if the people are 20 or 60 years old—only if they can move by themselves.
