§ 131088 Earn And Learn Programs

Key Takeaways

  • •People can learn and earn money at the same time in jobs like nursing or other health jobs.
  • •The government won’t stop programs that let you work and train together.
  • •The government won’t force schools or training places to offer these programs, but they can if they want.

Example

A person wants to become a nurse but can’t go to school full-time because they need to work.

This law lets them join a program where they work at a hospital and get paid while also learning to be a nurse. The hospital doesn’t have to offer this, but if they do, the government says it’s okay.
