§ 12006 Fire Safety Exemptions

• •This law says that some fire safety rules don't apply if another group (Division of Occupational Safety and Health) is already in charge of those things.
• •The State Fire Marshal's rules only matter if they cover stuff that the other group doesn't handle.
• •If both groups have rules, the State Fire Marshal's rules might still apply if they go further than the other group's rules.

A factory has rules about storing chemicals safely.

If the factory follows the safety rules from the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, they might not have to follow the State Fire Marshal's rules unless the Fire Marshal's rules cover something extra.
