§ 11579 Nuisance Abatement Cost Lien

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone proves there's a nuisance (like a place causing trouble), the court can order it to be fixed or shut down.
  • •The person who complained can get their court costs paid by the owner of the nuisance place.
  • •The court can force the owner to pay by putting a hold on their property.

Example

Your neighbor’s house is always super loud with parties every night, and the police have been called many times.

If you take them to court and win, the court can order them to stop the parties. They might also have to pay your court bills, and if they don’t pay, the court can take money from their house.
