§ 110345 Serving Quantity Labeling Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If a food, drug, or cosmetic package says how many servings are inside, it must also say how much is in each serving.
  • •The amount per serving can be shown in weight (like grams), measure (like cups), or just the number (like 5 cookies).
  • •This rule helps you know exactly how much you get in one serving.

Example

You buy a box of cookies that says '10 servings inside.'

The box must also tell you how much one serving is, like '5 cookies per serving' or '30 grams per serving.' This way, you know how much you're eating.
