§ 106705 Continuing Education Standards

This law lets the department, after a committee suggests it, set rules for ongoing training that registered environmental health specialists must complete, and it must make many different kinds of training available.

Key Takeaways

  • •The department can create continuing‑education requirements for registered environmental health specialists.
  • •These requirements can only be made after the committee recommends them.
  • •The rules must provide a variety of training formats (like online courses, workshops, etc.).

Example

A registered environmental health specialist wants to keep their license current and decides to take an online class and attend a local workshop.

Because of this law, the department can require the specialist to finish a set amount of continuing‑education each year, and it must offer both online and in‑person options so the specialist can choose what works best.
