§ 103230 Birth Certificate Parentage Rules

This law says that the rules in Section 103225 can be used for a birth certificate only when there is no other information that disagrees about who the parent or child is on the original certificate.

Key Takeaways

  • •Section 103225 works for birth certificates only if no other document conflicts with the parent‑child info.
  • •It looks at the original, first‑filed birth certificate.
  • •If a court order or other record says a different parent exists, this rule does not apply.

Example

A baby’s birth certificate lists Mom and Dad as the parents and there are no court orders or other papers saying someone else is a parent.

Because nothing else contradicts the parent information on the original birth certificate, the rules from Section 103225 can be applied to that certificate.
