§ 102310 Marriage License Review Requirements

This law says the local marriage registrar must check every marriage license and ask for any missing information before filing it.

Key Takeaways

  • •The registrar has to review each marriage license carefully.
  • •If the license is incomplete or not good enough, the registrar must ask for more information.
  • •The license cannot be accepted until it is complete and satisfactory.

Example

A couple turns in their marriage license but forgets to sign one of the required pages.

The registrar looks at the license, sees the missing signature, and tells the couple to bring the signed page before the license can be recorded.
