§ 102275 Local Registrar Duties

This law says the health officer of a local health department also handles all the paperwork for births and deaths in their area.

Key Takeaways

  • •The health officer acts as the local registrar for births and deaths.
  • •This applies to every registration district inside the health officer's health jurisdiction.
  • •All duties normally done by a birth/death registrar are done by the health officer.

Example

A baby is born in a small town and the health officer fills out the birth certificate.

Because the health officer is the local registrar, they record the baby's birth just like a regular birth registrar would.
