§ 9740 Legislative Manual Compilation

• •Every two years, in December, the Secretary of the Senate and the Chief Clerk of the Assembly start making a special book called a legislative manual or handbook.
• •They finish this book as soon as they can after the new session starts.
• •Once the book is done, they print it and give it out to people in the way they think is best.

Imagine it's December 2024. The people in charge of the Senate and Assembly start working on a big guidebook about the rules and information for the new year.

They work on it over the winter and finish it when the new session begins in January. Then, they print copies and send them to all the lawmakers so they have the latest rules and info.
