§ 29821 Warrant Registration Fund Balance

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone writes a check for more money than is in the account, they have to register it first.
  • •Before giving out the check, they must show it to the treasurer to get it registered.
  • •This rule is to make sure there’s enough money before the check is given out.

Example

Imagine you have $100 in your bank account, but you write a check for $150.

Before you can give that check to someone, you have to show it to the bank manager (treasurer) to register it. This makes sure you don’t spend money you don’t have.
