§ 29126 Budget Transfer Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can cancel money they planned to spend if they don't need it anymore.
  • •They can move that canceled money to a special 'just in case' fund.
  • •If there's no 'just in case' fund, they can create one.

Example

A school board planned to spend $10,000 on new computers but found cheaper ones.

They can cancel the extra money and put it in a 'just in case' fund for unexpected costs, like fixing a broken school bus.
