§ 27338 Conveyance Recording Certificate Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •If you want to record a document about selling or transferring land near water or public land, you need a special paper from the State Lands Commission.
  • •This rule is for documents like deeds or titles that show who owns the land.
  • •Without this special paper, the government won’t officially record your document.

Example

You buy a piece of land near a lake and want to put your name on the official records to show you own it.

Before the government will write down that you own the land, you must get a certificate from the State Lands Commission. If you don’t have it, they won’t record your ownership.
