§ 26734 Levy Fee On Attached Property

Key Takeaways

  • •If the police already have your stuff because of a court case, and they need to take more of your stuff for the same case, they charge a fee.
  • •The fee amount is the same as the one mentioned in another law (Section 26720.9).
  • •This rule has been in place since 2001.

Example

Imagine you owe someone money, and the court says the police can take your TV to help pay that debt. Later, the court says the police can also take your game console for the same debt.

The police will charge you a fee for taking the game console, and that fee is the same as the one they charged for taking the TV.
