§ 23723 Charter Amendment Ratification

Key Takeaways

  • •If most people vote 'yes' on a change to the rules, it gets approved.
  • •The change doesn’t start right away—it needs to be officially accepted and filed first.
  • •The Secretary of State has to say it’s okay before the change happens.

Example

A town votes on whether to allow dogs in parks.

If most people vote 'yes,' the rule is approved but won’t start until the Secretary of State says it’s official.
