§ 20932 Part-Time Service Credit Rules

• •If you worked part-time for the state before, you can get credit for that time even if you switch to full-time later.
• •This rule started in 1996, so it applies to people who were working before then too.
• •The credit is for time you worked before changes in the law or your job status.

If you worked part-time for the state for 2 years, then switched to full-time, you can still count those 2 years toward your retirement.

The law lets you add your part-time work to your total time working for the state, even if you weren’t full-time at first.
