§ 17241 Fund Reimbursement Process

Key Takeaways

  • •The state has a special fund called the General Cash Revolving Fund.
  • •If money is taken from this fund for something, the state can pay it back using the General Fund.
  • •The Controller is the person who handles this money move.

Example

Imagine you borrow $20 from your piggy bank to buy a toy, but you promise to pay it back from your allowance.

The state does something similar. If it takes money from the General Cash Revolving Fund (like the piggy bank) for something important, it can pay it back later using the General Fund (like the allowance).
