§ 16353 State Construction Fund Transfers

Key Takeaways

  • •If there's leftover money from a state construction project, it doesn't just sit there.
  • •The Director of Finance and the State Public Works Board can decide to move that extra money to another project.
  • •This only happens if they agree the money isn't needed for the original project anymore.
  • •The money gets added to a different project that needs more funds.

Example

Imagine the state budgeted $100,000 to fix up a school, but the repairs only cost $80,000.

The leftover $20,000 doesn't go to waste. The Director of Finance and the State Public Works Board can move that $20,000 to help pay for another project, like fixing potholes on a road that needs more money.
