§ 14181 Guaranteed Return Trip Evaluation

Key Takeaways

  • •The government checked if a program called 'Guaranteed Return Trip' helped people use buses, trains, or carpooling more.
  • •They had to finish this check and tell the lawmakers what they found by July 30, 1993.
  • •They also had to say if the program should keep going or not.

Example

Imagine your city starts a program where they give free taxi rides home to people who take the bus to work. The city wants to know if this makes more people take the bus instead of driving alone.

The government had to study if this kind of program worked. They looked at how many people used the bus because of the free ride home. Then they told the lawmakers if it was a good idea to keep doing it or not.
