§ 14172 Emergency Transit Commuter Assistance

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about helping people who use buses, trains, or carpools get home safely if there's an emergency.
  • •The government asks for ideas on how to help these commuters get to their homes, cars, or another safe place if something unexpected happens.
  • •The goal is to make sure people who don't drive alone to work have a way to get home in an emergency.

Example

Imagine a big snowstorm hits suddenly in the evening, and the trains stop running. Many people who took the train to work are stuck at the station.

This law means the government has plans or ideas ready to help these people get home safely, like arranging buses or rides to take them home or to their cars.
