§ 14060 Equipment Financing Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •This law talks about things like trains, buses, and ferries—stuff used to move people around.
  • •It explains how the government can borrow money to buy these things, like taking out a loan for a car but for trains and buses.
  • •Sometimes, the government gets money from the feds or local places to help pay for these big purchases, like getting a gift card to help buy something expensive.
  • •The law also covers big projects like train stations, parking lots, and tracks—anything that makes trains and buses better for people to use.

Example

Imagine your city wants to buy new buses so more people can ride without waiting too long.

The city might borrow money, like using a credit card, to buy the buses now. Later, they might get money from the federal government to help pay off that loan. This law says that’s okay and explains how it works.
