§ 10201 Legislative Counsel Selection

Key Takeaways

  • •The Legislative Counsel is chosen at the start of each regular session.
  • •They stay in the job until someone new is picked and ready to take over.
  • •The choice is made by a special agreement called a concurrent resolution.

Example

Imagine your school's student council picks a new treasurer at the beginning of every school year.

Just like the treasurer is chosen at the start of the year and stays until a new one is ready, the Legislative Counsel is picked at the start of each session and stays until someone new is chosen and ready.
