§ 8240 Replacement Vessel Permit Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't get a new boat permit if your old boat was lost, stolen, or destroyed on purpose to trick the department.
  • •You can't get a new boat permit if you lie or give fake info on your application.
  • •You can't get a new boat permit if your old one expired and you didn't renew it on time, even if you're trying to sell the boat.
  • •The department can say no to a new boat permit for the same reasons they can take away an old one.

Example

You lose your boat in a storm and lie on your application, saying it was stolen instead.

The department will not give you a new boat permit because you gave fake info about what happened to your old boat.
