§ 8140 Commercial Fish Taking Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •You can catch and sell fish anytime if there are no other rules stopping you.
  • •This only applies to fish that aren’t already protected by other laws.
  • •The law doesn’t say which fish are allowed—you have to check other rules.

Example

A fisherman wants to catch and sell salmon.

If no other law says salmon are protected, he can catch and sell them anytime. But if another law says salmon are off-limits, he can’t.
