§ 700 Department Name Change Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •There is a department called the Department of Fish and Wildlife that takes care of fish and wildlife stuff.
  • •This department took over all the jobs and things that used to belong to the old Department of Fish and Game.
  • •If you see the old name 'Department of Fish and Game' in any law, it now means the 'Department of Fish and Wildlife'.
  • •They don’t have to throw away or change old signs, uniforms, or logos with the old name on them. They can keep using them until they’re worn out or gone.

Example

You see a sign at a park that says 'Department of Fish and Game' on it.

That sign is still good, and it now means the 'Department of Fish and Wildlife'. They don’t have to replace it just because the name changed.
