§ 4901 Bighorn Sheep Management Plans

Key Takeaways

  • •The government keeps track of bighorn sheep groups in different areas.
  • •They make a special plan for each area to protect the sheep.
  • •The plan includes counting sheep, checking their health, and seeing if other animals or people are causing problems.
  • •They also decide if sheep need to be moved to a new place or if sick sheep need help.

Example

If too many cows are eating the same grass as bighorn sheep in a mountain area, the sheep might not have enough food.

The government will check how many sheep are there, see if the cows are causing trouble, and make a plan to fix it—like moving some cows or sheep to another place.
