§ 79505 Producer Data Confidentiality

Key Takeaways

  • •Private business info given to the commission is kept secret.
  • •Even secret stuff like names, prices, and research can't be shared unless a court says so.
  • •Only big-picture numbers (like total sales) can be shared if the commission wants to.

Example

A farmer reports how many apples they sold and for what price.

The commission can't tell anyone else those numbers unless a judge orders it. But they can say how many apples were sold in the whole state.
