Key Takeaways

  • •Before a vote happens, the people who want the vote must pay for it first.
  • •If there's money left after the vote, they get it back.
  • •If the vote passes, the new group can pay back the people who paid for the vote.

Example

A group of neighbors wants to create a new community group and needs a vote to make it official.

The neighbors must first pay the cost of setting up the vote. If the vote happens and there's leftover money, they get it back. If the vote passes and the group is created, the new group can pay the neighbors back for what they spent.
