§ 77865 Continuing Rights After Termination

Key Takeaways

  • •If this law is paused or stopped, it doesn’t erase any rights, duties, or problems that happened before or after.
  • •Even if the law is not active, you can still get in trouble for breaking it.
  • •The people in charge can still fix problems or punish violations, even if the law is paused.

Example

Imagine a rule at school that says no running in the halls. Even if the school stops enforcing the rule for a week, you can still get in trouble if you ran in the halls before or during that week.

The law works the same way—just because it’s paused doesn’t mean old or new problems go away.
