§ 77644 Chapter Termination Effects

Key Takeaways

  • •Even if this law is canceled or paused, it doesn’t erase any rights, duties, or problems that happened before or after.
  • •If someone broke this law before it was canceled, they can still get in trouble for it.
  • •The people in charge can still fix problems or punish violations even if the law is gone.

Example

Imagine a rule at school that says no running in the halls. Even if the school removes the rule, if you ran in the halls before it was removed, you can still get in trouble.

This law works the same way. If the law is canceled, people can still be held responsible for breaking it before it was canceled.
