§ 76142 Cherry Exemption Requirements

• •This law doesn’t apply to cherries grown just for your family to eat at home.
• •It also doesn’t apply to cherries grown just for decoration, like in a garden.
• •If you grow cherries on a very small piece of land (one acre or less) and you’re not selling them, this law doesn’t apply to you.
• •If you think your cherries are exempt, you have to tell the commission by filling out a special paper (affidavit).

A family grows a few cherry trees in their backyard to make pies for themselves.

This family doesn’t have to follow the rules in this law because they’re only using the cherries for their own home and not selling them. But if they want to be sure, they should fill out the special paper to prove they’re exempt.
