§ 72057 Wheat Commission Member Qualifications

Key Takeaways

  • •Only people who grow or help grow wheat can be on the commission as producer members.
  • •No more than two people from the same company can be on the commission at the same time.
  • •People who handle wheat (like selling or storing it) can be on the commission as handler members.
  • •There’s one special member who isn’t involved in the wheat business at all—they represent the public.

Example

A farmer who grows wheat wants to join the commission.

The farmer can join as a producer member because they grow wheat. But if two other farmers from the same big farm company are already on the commission, the farmer can’t join until one of them leaves.
