§ 62570 Fund Audit Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The money in the fund must be checked by an outside company every two years.
  • •The board picks the company to do the check, but the secretary chooses the final one.
  • •The check results must be given to the secretary within 30 days after it's done.

Example

Imagine your school's lunch money fund.

Every two years, someone from outside the school checks if the lunch money is being used right. The school's principal (like the secretary) picks who does the check from a list the school board suggests. After the check, the results must be given to the principal within 30 days.
