§ 65056 Producer List Confidentiality

Key Takeaways

  • •The council must keep secret the list of people involved in this program.
  • •They can only share the list if a court orders them to after a hearing.
  • •They can share general info (like total sales) as long as it doesn’t name specific people or businesses.
  • •Producers can talk to each other about non-business stuff related to the council.

Example

A group of farmers is part of a program that tracks their crops.

The council can’t tell anyone who the farmers are, but they can share total crop numbers without naming names. If Farmer A wants to talk to Farmer B about program rules, that’s allowed.
