§ 62569 Milk Producer Payment Fund

Key Takeaways

  • •Money collected for milk must go into a special bank account approved by the secretary.
  • •This money can only be used to pay for milk made and delivered in the state, including lawyer fees and other costs related to the fund.
  • •The secretary can use extra money earned from investing this fund, but only in specific ways allowed by another section.

Example

A dairy farmer delivers milk to stores but doesn't get paid for some of it.

The money collected by the secretary can be used to pay the farmer for that milk. It can also cover costs like lawyer fees if there's a fight over the money.
