§ 60014 Commodity Marketing Fraud Penalties

Key Takeaways

  • •It's illegal to lie on reports or records required by this law.
  • •You can't sell or move certain farm products without permission if they're part of a special marketing program.
  • •Helping someone break these rules is also against the law.
  • •Each time you break these rules, it counts as a separate crime.

Example

A farmer tries to sell a truckload of oranges to a grocery store without following the rules of a special marketing program for oranges.

The farmer could get in trouble because they didn't have the right permission to sell the oranges that way. It's like cutting in line when there are special rules for selling farm products.
