§ 5030 Plant Material Ownership Verification

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're buying, selling, or moving plants for business, you might need to show proof you own them if asked by the police or officials.
  • •The proof must include who sold it, who bought it, what the plant is, how much there is, and where it was grown.
  • •If officials think something is wrong, they can ask the police to stop your vehicle to check the plants.

Example

You're driving a truck full of flowers to sell at a market.

If a police officer thinks something is suspicious, they can stop you and ask to see papers showing who grew the flowers, who you bought them from, and where they came from. If you don’t have these papers, you could be in trouble.
