§ 5403 Public Nuisance Abatement

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone gets a warning about a problem (like bugs or weeds) and doesn’t fix it in time, the government can step in.
  • •The government will take action to remove or control the problem themselves.
  • •This is about fixing things that bother or harm the public, like pests or dangerous conditions.

Example

Your neighbor’s yard is full of rats because they left trash everywhere. The city tells them to clean it up, but they don’t.

The city can then send someone to clean up the trash and get rid of the rats themselves.
