§ 5011 Crop Definition For Pest Management

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'crop' is any plant or animal (or something made from them) that people grow to sell or eat.
  • •It includes things like fruits, vegetables, cows, or even wool from sheep.
  • •This rule is for pest control—like keeping bugs or weeds away from these crops.

Example

A farmer grows tomatoes to sell at the market.

The tomatoes are a 'crop' because the farmer grows them to make money. If bugs attack the tomatoes, pest control rules apply to protect them.
