§ 40761 Tomato Processing Standards

The committee may submit to the director proposed regulations under this chapter. The director may adopt and enforce regulations for the following: (a) Minimum standards and tolerances, for processing tomatoes which shall be cause for rejection by the director. However, no emergency regulations shall be established which raise or lower standards and tolerances. (b) Minimum standards for color of processing tomatoes based on a comminuted raw product sample which shall be cause for rejection by the director. However, no emergency regulations shall be established which tend to raise or lower the comminuted color readings. (c) Standards for processing tomatoes which shall not be cause for rejection by the director. (d) Sampling and inspection procedures for processing tomatoes. (e) Fees calculated to cover expected costs involved in the department performing the services specified in this chapter and in carrying out the regulations adopted under this chapter. (f) Sanitation, equipment, inspection stations, and load identification data. (g) Other regulations which are reasonably necessary for the administration and enforcement of this chapter.
