§ 21704 Animal Sale Validity

• •If you buy or get a pet as a gift, the seller or giver doesn’t have to give you a paper saying you own it.
• •Even without a paper, the sale or gift is still real and legal.
• •Both the buyer and seller (or giver and receiver) still have the same rights, even without a written bill.

You buy a dog from a neighbor, but they forget to give you a receipt or paper saying you own the dog.

The law says it’s still your dog, and the sale is valid. You don’t need the paper to prove you own it.
